About Dr. Laughter
I received my Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant International University, San Diego. I have over 10 years of expertise in evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, to help people with emotional disorders and chronic pain. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at Aurora Behavioral Health Care- San Diego where I worked with adults, adolescents, and children. I completed my post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California San Diego Medical Center where I specialized in providing therapy to people with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, sleep problems, and concerns with weight management. Before opening my private practice I worked at the Center for Stress and Anxiety Management (CSAM).
I am especially interested in helping adults, teens and older children (ages 10 and up) with generalized anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety, phobias, and adjusting to life stress/transitions. I have specialty training in Prolonged Exposure Therapy to treat posttraumatic stress disorder.
And yes, that is my real last name. Laughter is pronounced: ˈlaftər, like "ha ha."
